oh hello. I'm Tina. By day, a web designer, by night and weekends and any other moment, I'm a maker of things. "Necessity is the mother of invention" mainly because the father and kids of invention probably bailed early on and left a mess for mom to clean up. :) Seriously, this little endeavor of mine that is the virtual stitchery was born out of a want to learn to make things like surface pattern design, quilting, sewing cute things, and making a huge mess for my creative mind to run wild. However, running a wild mind gets pretty expensive. the fabric alone... an addiction in and of itself. So I had to come up with a new way to learn and be creative with what I had and that was a computer and still yet an interest in 3D modeling and texturing. A lightbulb went off to combine the 2 together and save money and time. The virtual stitchery allows me to play endlessly without the cost of supplies. I'm hoping this turns into a resource for other aspiring designers to test and show their patterns on things.
I still get to buy fabric but nowhere near what I wanted.
